Last week the heat decided to bless us in Algarve. With the heat came my ice cream crave, so this ice cream helped me to cope with it (at least for a while). This recipe was adapted from Elise’s Simply Recipes blog. As you can seen, even Tim, my lovely labrador, couldn’t resist to take a sniff.
- 2 fresh cream packs (2x 200 ml)
- 200g of light condensed milk
- 1 long espresso
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 10 Oreo cookies
- 2 to 3 teaspoons of aguardente (Portuguese equivalent to Grappa)
Whip the 2 packs of cream until consistent. Add the condensed milk, coffee, the cocoa powder and mix well. Break up the Oreos in smaller pieces, add them to the mixture along with the aguardente. Pour the mixture into a glass or pyrex container and put it in the freezer overnight (or for at least 4 /5 hours).
